We made cloud eggs so you don’t have to

You can forget your trendy Poke Bowls and Cronuts, the Cloud Egg is the next big thing in town. People from around the globe have been eggcitedly sharing photos of their cloud-like breakfast, causing food envy across the interwebs, so we decided to make a batch so you didn’t have to.

We used….

4 eggs

A small handful of grated parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper

A baking tray

Some barking paper

A hand mixer

And a large bowl

Here’s what we did…

First up we separated our egg yolks from the whites, with the whites going into our large bowl.

Then fired up the electric hand mixer and whipped our whites into soft peaks.

We took our whites and arranged them into “nests” on the backing papered baking tray.

We used a spoon to create little wells in the middle of the egg white nests, sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese and popped them into the oven for 10 minutes.

After the whites had browned a little, we took them of the oven and gently placed the yolks into the wells we made made in the previous step.

Then back into the oven for another 5 minutes.

The Verdict

The rubbery texture of the whites is quite pleasant, and the runny yolk mixed with the cheese and seasoning brings the whole thing together just as you would imagine.

4/5 – Would try again.
